From this moment, and for a long time afterwards, divine worship was celebrated in private homes. Until 1900 there are no exact data to prove the existence of a parish temple.
  • The Provisional Chapel: Already moved, for unknown reasons, in its current location a temporary chapel was built, in 1911 it was blown up by the explosion of a dynamite charge that the parish priest kept under the main altar in order to carry out scientific experiments. This explosion caused two deaths.
  • The Current Temple: In 1913 the construction of the current parish temple of Our Lady of Encarnación began. The cornerstone was blessed by Monsignor Juan Sinforiano Bogarin in a solemn ceremony. They laid the foundations of the bulding but the revolutionary convulsions of the country, and the malignant fever, prevented the construction of this project, the bricks were distributed free for the construction of public and private buildings.

Its construction was at the initiative of Father José Kreusser, parish priest of Villa Encarnación. In 1928 it was decided to continue the construction of the temple on the foundations blessed by Bishop Bogarin. According to the plan of the Paraguayan engineer Mr. Cálcena, the construction is in a romantic style temple that measures 38 meters long. The bricks for the construction were brought by trains from Areguá. The work was interrupted in 1932 due to lack of funds, but from September 1937 to December 1938 it was intensively brought in, leaving the temple almost completed.

In 1940, the priest Lucas Bruder; masterfully decorates the interior of said temple. In 1947 the new parish priest Francisco Cedzich began the construction of the first tower, 25 meters high and with a wooden dome, under the direction of Mr. Juna Klimowitsch. When the Prelatur Nullius was created, on February 21, 1957, the temple of Encarnación was promoted to the category of Cathedral. The Consecration of the temple was on October 12, 1917.
